Good news this week

Hello, fellow Illians!

ILL has received over 240 requests from you as of Thursday, October 25.

The good news is that the ILL staff has been able to keep up with your orders this week.

Many thanks to those of you who have added OCLC numbers(ascension numbers), ISBNs and ISSNs to your requests. It is helping us to keep up and get those orders done in a timely manner.

A special thanks to our customers who have begun ordering books on I-Share.

All your efforts are helping the ILL staff complete orders for your information needs in a expedient fashion!

Unforturnate turn of your requests

ILL is sad to report we have not been able to keep up with your requests. ILL is running a day behind in ordering materials.

What can you do to help?

1. Order your materials on I-Share when possible (Videos,DVDs, CDs should be submitted to the ILL department using our online forms or WorldCat).

What slows the ILL staff down is ordering materials you can order yourself on I-Share. See instructions here. Animated video on ordering via I-Share go here.

2. Place your electronic order via Worldcat when you find a citation. You would be amazed at how fast the ILL staff can order requests submitted from WorldCat. The ILL staff does not have to retype the information of needed materials.

Select Worldcat from our database list.

3. Fill out your forms completely. Missing pages numbers, volume, issue numbers, and incomplete titles will slow down your request while the ILL staff tries to verify the citation. Don't forget to include your email and ID number.

4. Check and see if WIU owns the material. A third of all requests ILL has received are on the shelf upstairs. We check each one before we send it back to you.

5. Please do not resubmit requests. Contact us via email, phone, or in person for a status check.
